  • At the grocery store, both poultry and beef are often completely thawed and left sitting in thin plastic packaging—exposed to air, temperature changes, and germs that can easily penetrate the material. In many cases, that meat has been sitting in a display case for up to two weeks, handled repeatedly and exposed to fluctuating temperatures.

    At Harvest Hills Ranch, our poultry and beef are flash-frozen at the USDA processor, never thawed, and shipped straight to you. Each order is packed to maintain temperature integrity, ensuring that your meat arrives safe and nutrient-rich.

    Your box may arrive rock-solid, partially frozen, or fully thawed but still refrigerator-cold (below 40°F)—all of which are perfectly safe. According to the USDA, meat and poultry can be cooked or refrozen as long as they remain at or under refrigerator temperature.

    Will my order arrive frozen solid?
    Most orders arrive fully or partially frozen, depending on travel time and weather. Either way, your order will always arrive cold, safe to cook, or ready to refreeze immediately.

  • Harvest Hills Ranch is located in Southeast Texas in the community of Hillister.  

  • We currently ship to Texas and Louisiana.

  • Orders are only shipped on Monday to prevent packages sitting over the weekend.  This insures that the courier will deliver your order still frozen.  Orders placed after 6pm on the Sunday proceeding ship days will go out the following week.

  • Our bulk beef will fit in a standalone upright or chest freezer.  Typically a quarter and half beef will fit in a 7 cu ft space.  Whole cow shares will require 13-15 cu ft.  All bundles will generally fit in a standard freezer compartment of your home's refrigerator.

  • You can order as little as a single protein bundle.

  • Our animals are raised with regenerative standards.  The welfare of all of our animals is of the utmost importance to us.  Our mission is to bring you nutrient-dense meats which means that we have to raise animals in their natural, low-stress environment.  The casual demeanor displayed by our herd when we are around them is a reflection of the low-stress lifestyle they enjoy.
